According to authorities, a man armed with a gun, pepper spray and a hatchet, was killed Wednesday afternoon after a fire fight with law enforcement officers in a movie theater outside Nashville, Tennessee.

Authorities made quick work of the timeline of events explaining the use pepper spray on three apparent victims, but glossing over other details such as the hatchet and ‘hoax explosive device’ strapped to the alleged shooter, whose identity was withheld for a short period after the incident.

Republican candidate suggests Newtown school massacre that killed 26 people was a hoax to drum up support for tougher gun control laws

A political candidate in Colorado is under intense criticism and has even received death threats after suggesting the Newtown school shooting that killed 26 people was a hoax.

On his Facebook, Republican Tom Ready posted an article claiming that the December 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School could have been faked to drum up support for tougher gun control laws.

He was forced to defend his choice to share the article in a debate this week against Pueblo County Commissioner Sal Pace, whom he is hoping to unseat.

'I don’t think [the shootings have] been proven,' Ready said, according to the Pueblo Chieftain.  'And what’s wrong with open discussion?'

'There's still a question about whether it really happened, Sal,' Ready says in the televised debate, drawing boos from the audience.

'Some of the people, if you recall, there was a picture of a man walking in whose daughter had died, he was smiling and joking,' he continues. 'When he walked into the room, he turned and all of a sudden had tears in his eyes. 'Why? I question that.'

Ready on Saturday apologized for his remarks, telling the Denver Post that he simply 'pushed a button' to link to the article to encourage discussion. Yet he insisted to the Post that the country still doesn't know everything about Newtown — and also hinted that he's not a believer in the official version of the Kennedy assassination.

'We haven't got all the questions answered,' he told the newspaper. 'Where's freedom of speech? I didn't know we were a communist community.' Ready told the Post he's received death threats since he made the remarks. The 2012 tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School ended with 20 children and six adults dead after a deranged Adam Lanza, 20, opened fire throughout the hallways. 

The shootings sparked a national debate about tougher gun laws.

Ready is not alone in his belief.

'Sandy Hook truthers believe that gun-control activists staged the shooting of 26 people in Newtown, Connecticut in December of 2012 in order to pave the way for tighter restrictions on firearms,' explains David Ferguson in RawStory.

'The 20 dead children and six dead adults and the disturbed man who took their lives are liberal phantasms, truthers believe, that are being used to ramp up hysteria which will lead to widespread government confiscation of weapons.'

Secret DARPA Mind Control Project Revealed: Leaked Document

 What if the government could change people's moral beliefs or stop political dissent through remote control of people's brains?

Sounds like science fiction, right? Well, a leaked document reveals that the US government, through DARPA research, is very close to accomplishing this.

Activist Post was recently contacted by an anonymous whistleblower who worked on a secret ongoing mind-control project for DARPA. The aim of the program is to remotely disrupt political dissent and extremism by employing "Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation" (TMS) in tandem with sophisticated propaganda based on this technology. TMS stimulates the temporal lobe of the brain with electromagnetic fields.

The program, conducted by The Center for Strategic Communication, is based at Arizona State University. The DARPA funding for this project can be confirmed on the ASU website here. The head of the project, Steve Corman, has worked extensively in the area of strategic communication as it applies to terrorism and "extremism" - or what could be called "the war of ideas."

Corman's latest project Narrating The Exit From Afghanistan and his many presentations make it quite obvious that the mission is to shape the narrative and literally change people's minds. Lest one believe it will be contained to overseas extremists, we should keep in mind that the word extremist is increasingly used domestically. The dissenters of yesterday could easily become the terrorist sympathizers and supporters of political violence tomorrow.

This DARPA research brings about many ethical questions and dilemmas. Mainly, this research aims to literally induce or disrupt the operation of narratives within the brain. In other words, this research aims to stop individuals from thinking certain thoughts and make others believe things they normally would not believe. This research has tremendous interrogation possibilities and could potentially be used to more successfully spread propaganda or stop political upheaval to an unsuspecting public.

This research is being conducted by The Center for Strategic Communication at ASU and is entitled “Toward Narrative Disruptors and Inductors: Mapping the Narrative Comprehension Network and its Persuasive Effects” A detailed overview of the project can be found in the document below. Highlights include:

In phase 3 of the research, the research group will “selectively alter aspects of narrative structure and brain functions via Transcranial Magnetic Simulation (TMS) to induce or disrupt selected features of narrative processing.” (Page 16, emphasis added)

TMS is a very powerful tool used to impair the brain functioning of individuals. See the videos below for a brief demonstration of the effects of TMS.

Once the research group determines which parts of the brain are associated with cognitive reasoning and narrative comprehension, they will be attempt to impair those sections in order to “create a fundamental basis for understanding how to disrupt or enhance aspects of narrative structure and/or brain functioning to minimize or maximize persuasive effects on subject proclivity to engage in political violence.” (Page 23)

Once it is determined that disruption of certain portions of the brain can enhance persuasive messaging, individuals can be persuaded to do things they normally would not do and believe things they normally would not believe. This could include something as simple as telling a closely guarded secret, to believing in government propaganda, or even committing a violent act. The group writes on page 26, “once we have produced a narrative comprehension model [i.e., how individuals comprehend stories and persuasive messages], end users [aka the government] will understand how to activate known neural networks (e.g., working memory or attention) and positive behavioral outcome (e.g., nonviolent actions) nodes with strategic communication messages as a means to reduce incidences of political violence in contested populations.” The group will investigate “possibilities for literally disrupting the activity of the NCN [narrative comprehension network] through Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.” (page 30) [text added]

The group is so confident that they will be able to induce or disrupt the operations of narratives in the brain, that they say on page 26 that the research “offers the capability to induce or disrupt the operation of narratives in the brain, and develops the capability to induce narrative validity [i.e., the believability of a particular narrative/message], transportation [i.e., the ability to be engaged by a narrative], and integration [i.e., associating a particular narrative with a larger, more culturally specific narrative] with certainty.” [text added]

The group gives the following example of this projects usefulness: “If it is the case that activation in one particular neural network enables people to connect personal narrative to master narratives [i.e., cultural narratives], by disrupting activity in that brain area, we should be able to selectively impair that specific aspect of narrative processing while holding other meaning making processes constant, effectively creating a ‘narrative disruptor.’ Not only would this be an important finding in the science of neural networks and narrative persuasion, but would also have considerably practical and strategic importance.” (page 40) [text added] 

Essentially, the research aims to literally disrupt how people think and comprehend ideas and messages.

Further, and perhaps even more terrifying, on page 40, the group writes, “Mechanical disruptions of narrative processing may be, ultimately, replicated in through targeted strategic communication campaigns that approximate the narrative disruptions induced via magnetic stimulation.” So, after figuring out which parts of the brain are activated by particular persuasive messages and propaganda, the government can test out messages that only activate particular portions of the brain and not others, in order to persuade individuals to believe or not believe something.

Essentially, they are attempting to modify brain functioning without TMS, and only words. One can only imagine the strategies the government could use with this technology. They could make the public believe almost anything that suits their needs. It could literally lead to mass brainwashing.

But what does this mean, practically? It means that if this research succeeds, the government will be able to modify how one personally thinks. They could strap you in a chair, put a machine to your head, turn off parts of your brain, introduce a persuasive message, and make you believe it.

Further, through extensive research, they may be able to replicate the machine’s brain disrupting functioning simply through carefully crafted and researched persuasive messages and propaganda. They can use brain imaging to determine which portions of the brain are activated when a particular message is presented to an individual, and if the “right” portions are activated, they know the message will circumvent one’s mental reasoning and lead to almost automatic acceptance. With enough data, the government could spread propaganda through the media that people will almost automatically believe, whether it is true or not.

In terms of interrogation possibilities, Transcranical Magnetic Stimulation can be forced upon individuals to make them believe certain things, say certain things, and perhaps admit to acts they did not actually commit (as the TMS can induce narrative validity), or commit acts they normally would not commit.

The government is literally trying to brainwash the public. This is not science fiction. Technology has made it possible to induce and disrupt cognitive functioning in individuals. In the future, your thoughts may not be your own, but ones that have been implanted into your brain through exceedingly successful and validated propaganda.

Meeting notes indicate concern about how the project will be perceived, particularly the focus on the Christian/Muslim element.

This area of study has received $100 million in funding via Obama's ten-year BRAIN Project, as well as a $1.3 billion commitment from Europe. A new microchip can mimic the brain and imitate the brain's information processing in real time. These are mainstream announcements and can no longer be dismissed as conspiracy theory.

For now, there appears to be a lot of parsing of words within the ASU project to stress that this is about "persuasion" not "influence" which can be seen in the meeting notes. It's also repeatedly mentioned that there is not a desire to organically change the brain itself, but to focus on the story being told and how to properly disseminate information -- propaganda, in other words. Finally, there is the troubling note about focusing on the Christian/Muslim narrative as exemplary of the extremism which needs to be reprogrammed.

Given what we know about the other military research into direct mind control, any benign assertions of this project at ASU must be called into question. The fact that members of this group were divided into teams red and blue to construct arguments for and against if word were to get out to "activists" and the public is additionally troubling.

If we combine all of this information with other releases about The Pentagon's work with "narrative networks," reported on by the BBC, it becomes clear that now is the time to discuss ethics, as no one in the scientific and military communities seems eager to bring possible attacks on our free will to the forefront.

Speculation as to the circumstances surrounding the most recent mass shooting at Fort Hood abounds.

A recent posting on Craigslist is fueling the fire even more, with some suggesting that it is evidence of yet another government facilitated false flag operation.

According to a March 12, 2014 snapshot of a listing on the popular classifieds web site, the government was looking for individuals to act as role players to participate in a “mass casualty exercise” scheduled for March 17, 18 and 19 and to be held on base at Fort Hood, TX. Contractors were to be paid $100 for their participation.

Government contractor is seeking individuals to act as role players to participate in a ” mass casualty exercise ” on the FT Hood military installation.

Role players will participate in an exercise that will replicate civilians in the area that have been injured during a disaster that is used in the scenario. Role players will be medically treated during this exercise at numerous locations on Ft Hood.

The objective of this exercise is to train and assess medical units with regards to civilians that have been injured during a disaster.

We are seeking individuals to take part in this exercise on March 17, 18 & 19 Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and legal to work in the United States.

According to Craigslist the posting has been deleted from the web site by its author. It is not clear when the deletion took place.

As has been the case with many recent acts of terrorism on U.S. soil, it seems that police or military have often been engaged in training exercises that closely mimic the actual events, often during the exact same time as the “real” event was taking place.

This was evident during the attacks of September 11, 2001 when the US military was engaged in a training exercise involving North American Air Defenses. As the attacks on the World Trade Center were taking place recordings from civilian and military operators reveal that military chain of command wasn’t sure whether the events being portrayed were “real world” or training. Experts suggest that this confusion contributed to a complete meltdown in America’s national defenses.

But September 11th isn’t the only example.

Ahead of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary the Department of Homeland Security was staging a mock exercise just minutes away. A few days prior to the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting a university just 16 miles away had staged an exercise that eerily depicted a gunman shooting movie goers.

And, after the Boston Marathon bombing the Department of Homeland Security officially acknowledged “frighteningly similar scenarios” between an exercise dubbed Operation Urban Shield and the actual events that took place at the marathon. The drill itself was held in Boston, Massachusetts and happened to be taking place in a live environment at the Marathon and at the very moment that the bombings were being executed.

We can chalk all of this off to coincidence, but given that nearly every major terrorist act in the United States in recent years has been preceded by a military or Homeland Security exercise depicting similar scenarios within minutes of where the actual events took place, one can’t help but question the official narratives.

The shooting was a grim echo of the 2009 Ft. Hood attack, when Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan turned on the Army and his fellow soldiers, later saying he had switched sides to become a Muslim guerrilla fighter. 

Now Marie Jackson was struggling during Friday's service with the same question many in this military town face: How could a soldier shoot battle buddies he was trained to defend until death?

"Soldiers are supposed to be united," said Jackson, an Army veteran. "If you can't trust the military, who can you trust?"

Jackson, 58, is married to a fellow veteran who served in the first Gulf War and suffers from PTSD that's been aggravated by the attack.

"He's arming himself," she said. "For him, it's like he's in a war all the time. There's no break in it. And now he's like, 'I'm being attacked all over again.' "

Colleen Bispham felt the same way after her husband was locked down on the base until 10 p.m. that night.

"It took me back to five years ago," said Bispham, 47, a preschool teacher. "It came alive."

Michael Boyd was at Ft. Hood the day of the shooting, and said after Friday's service that the community was still coping.

Boyd, 29, an electrician, left Ft. Hood shortly before the shooting, but returned later that day. He said the mood was somber, with some residents still distraught. The streets were quiet, almost eerie, he said.

By Friday, the gloom and anxiety had lifted, he said, as people returned to work and daily routines. But he said it would take time for soldiers and their families to fully realize the gravity of what happened and to recover.

"Over the weekend, people are going to watch the news and it's going to sink in," he said.

Children investigate 'spaceship crash' at York primary school

PUPILS arriving at a York primary school today had a close encounter - when they found an alien craft crash-landed in their playground.

Youngsters starting their day at Clifton with Rawcliffe school this morning were met by police tape, a NASA investigation unit and a small silver craft billowing smoke and resting on the grass opposite the main entrance to the school.

The scenes were part of an elaborate stunt arranged as part of a day-long exercise to test the youngsters’ investigative skills and to fuel their imaginations as part of a school-wide topic looking at space, said head teacher Chris Wigley.

The craft itself was made by three teaching assistants and the production also involved local police, The Press coming along to investigate and report on the 'crash' and a BBC cameraman in the shape of BBC Look North presenter Phil Bodmer, whose son attends the school.

Drama pupils from the nearby Canon Lee secondary school were also drafted in to play the parts of NASA staff and eye-witnesses, including 14-year-olds Isobel Liptrott and Rachel Wilkinson.

Beverley Wright, deputy head teacher at Clifton with Rawcliffe, was among those claiming to have seen a green man leave the ship and make his way into the building, and children were captivated by the drama.

Purpose: Contrails are long clouds made by high-flying aircraft. Because kids are so good at watching clouds, they can be easily taught to identify contrails.

Age Range: 6 – 10

Time Required: Young children can observe and report on contrails in only a few minutes a day.

Background:  Because kids are natural sky watchers, they are curious about both clouds and contrails. It is likely that when contrails are present that young children will notice and pay more attention to them than adults. Here are some basic facts that will interest them:



1. Contrails are long clouds of ice crystals caused by the exhaust from the engines of high-flying aircraft.



2. Contrails can spread into cirrus clouds that reduce sunlight during the day and warm the Earth at night.



3. Contrails are formed when the temperature of the air is around -40 degrees Celsius (which equals -40 degrees Fahrenheit).



4. Contrails do not form when the air is too dry. The length of contrails provides a clue about how dry the sky is where the plane that caused the contrail is flying.



5. Clouds that shade the sun during the day can cause cool weather.

Significance:  Kids know that some clouds signal rain and other mean fair weather. They need to know that contrails are actually manmade clouds and that they can cause measurable changes in the temperature far below where they live and go to school.

2. Contrail Calendar. Young students can easily add contrail observations to a daily cloud calendar. They might even consider a separate Contrail Calendar. 'We were at Dad's apartment the night the police came. Lights flashed. Neighbors stared. The officers put my dad in handcuffs,' the young rabbit recounts with a drawing of the potentially highly traumatic scene for a child to experience.

'Your dad may have broken a law,' a furry police officer addresses the three children after taking their father away. 'We need to ask him some questions at the police station.'

The book follows young Sketch as he experiences confusion and even anger at his father being hauled away to jail.

It also provides comprehensive footnotes for children to better understand what their locked-up loved ones are going through.

'Laws are rules that tell people how they should behave. When people break a law, they may be put in jail or prison. They have to stay there for a period of time. How long depends upon what law they broke,' one such footnote tells.

Eventually Sketch and his siblings visit their father in jail where he apologizes for what has happened and admits having made mistakes.

'I hope you'll forgive me,' the boy's father tells him from the other side of a glass wall.

Sketch cannot think of anything to say back to his father.

The book explains that this is normal - and suggests talking about school or everyday life instead.

'Dad's sentence is for six years. That's a long time to wait to go fishing again. I'm still a little angry. But I'm working on forgiving my dad because I love him,' Sketch later says in the book while recalling their better days together.

Police Chief Uses Unique Method To Control Homeless Population

NEVADA CITY (CBS13) – A police chief says he’s found a one-of-a-kind way to manage a growing problem in his city, and it’s putting the homeless on the hot seat.

A new law would give Nevada City the power to hand out permits to a small group of homeless, which would give them permission to sleep in public. While the new ordinance would give some homeless a place to stay, it would tell others, mostly the troublemakers and the criminals, to stay away.

“I come down here every fall,” said Bob Barton, who chooses to be homeless in Nevada City.

For Barton, the new ordinance that would essentially identify law-abiding homeless and reward them is music to his ears.

“The goal is to start managing the homeless population within our city,” said Chief James Wickham.

Wickham asked council members to pass a no-camping ordinance.

“It just basically means you can’t set up a tent. You can’t live in your vehicle. You can’t live in the woods in Nevada City,” he said.

That is unless you have a permit.

The chief says his program is one of a kind, making only a select few of the city’s homeless population an exception to the law, like William Peach.

“There’s some of us out there like me who try to blend in with the community,” said Peach.

However, others who come to Nevada City to commit crimes or with a criminal history won’t be so lucky.

“Those are the ones we really don’t want in our city and that we’re trying to keep from camping in our city,” said Wickham.

“We’ve seen a huge upsurge in homeless people,” Teresa Mann said.

Mann, who owns a business in downtown, says it’s about time. And so do the homeless who stay out of trouble and want trouble to stay away.

“If they’re homeless and heartless, hey, we got a place for them,” said James, who is homeless. “It’s called county jail.”

For now, the police chief will give out about six to 10 permits. He’ll check back in six months to see if the program is working. If it is, that’s when he says he’ll give out more.

Wickham says he’s identified at least 60 homeless in his community, and 500 homeless countywide.

The Genetic Social Network: Facebook has your Personal Information; Now Google wants your DNA

Facebook has amassed a gigantic database of human intelligence from its millions of users. This information has been used by police in the arrest of suspects, and is milked by marketers. What if a similar system gathered genetic information?

In 2005 it was revealed in a book called The Google Story that Dr. Craig Venter, known for his creation of synthetic lifeforms, was in discussions with Larry Page and Sergey Brin [founders of Google] to:

“…generate a gene catalogue to characterize all the genes on the planet and understand their evolutionary development. Geneticists have wanted to do this for generations… Google will build up a genetic database, analyze it, and find meaningful correlations for individuals and populations.”

Google has been funding a program to do just that called 23 and me. In 2006 the organization was co-founded by Anne Wojcicki, the wife of Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google.

Will the general public be acclimated to share their genetic information online as they were with Facebook to share personal information? Facebook has altered the public perception of privacy. As Time magazine reported in 2010, “The willingness of Facebook’s users to share and overshare — from descriptions of our bouts of food poisoning (gross) to our uncensored feelings about our bosses (not advisable) — is critical to its success.”

A recent article from Discover magazine pointed out that:

“Many researchers believe that personal genomics will really not hit the biomedical sweet spot until you have on the order of a million people sequenced. But even then in the American system how to get a hold of all that information is going to be problematic, since it will likely be decentralized.”

What this article fails to point out is that it has become known that the DNA of newborns has been secretly collected in America for decades. Samples have even been provided to U.S. Military labs. Also present in this issue is the prospect of who own the copyright your DNA.

If the government already has a database of millions of people’s DNA, what function could an organization like 23 and me fulfill?

Managing public perception is perhaps where the answer can be found. Having your DNA in a database to share with your friends in a familiar social network setting is a good way to introduce the masses to the idea. Also, Google is an extension of government agencies. As Facebook has proven, it is much easier to have the general public willingly volunteer their personal information.

The Yale Scientific Magazine announced earlier this month that with the 23 and me genetic social network, “…it is easier than ever for people to find out their genetic risks for diseases, as well as connect with others who share parts of their genome.” It remains to be seen whether 23 and me will become a widespread success like Facebook, but it certainly has a powerful backing. As of last year, 23 and me reached 125,000 users who have submitted gene samples.

Google founder Larry Page met with Craig Venter in California at the Edge billionaires meeting in 2010. Also present were representatives from the State department, Bill Gates, Anne Wojcicki, Bill Joy and dozens of other tech company CEO’s and scientists.

The Edge billionaire meetings have discussed the future of genetic engineering, biocomputation and re-designing humanity. Physicist Freeman Dyson described the individuals leading this group as having god-like power to create entirely new species on earth in a “New Age of Wonder”. He describes them as:

“…a new generation of artists, writing genomes as fluently as Blake and Byron wrote verses, might create an abundance of new flowers and fruit and trees and birds to enrich the ecology of our planet.”

The technological elite are engaged in a mission to attain full spectrum dominance over life and its complex processes, and in the process re-write the genetic code of the planet. The harvest of your genetic information brings this vision a step closer to reality.
